Former Barcelona presidential candidate AGUSTÍ BENEDITO announced that on Sept. 1, he will present a censure motion against current President JOSEP MARÍA BARTOMEU and the club's board. Benedito said that he has the support of 11,006 members (EFE, 7/25). ... CONOR MCGREGOR's "life and times are to be documented in a new film," to be released by Universal Pictures. Titled "Notorious," the feature-length documentary "will detail the last four years of the Irishman's life," beginning with him living and training in Dublin and claiming welfare in '13 and culminating in the build-up to his professional boxing debut against FLOYD MAYWEATHER. A "release date for the film has not yet been set," although it was officially announced by McGregor on his Instagram page (London INDEPENDENT, 7/25). ... Russian ice hockey forward DANIS ZARIPOV, a three-time world champion who played at the 2010 Olympics, has been suspended for two years after failing a doping test last season in the Kontinental Hockey League. The KHL said that the Int'l Ice Hockey Federation suspended Zaripov until May 22, 2019 (REUTERS, 7/25). ... Veteran racing journalist and trainer NEVILLE PRENDERGAST died, aged 88. Prendergast began as a cadet journalist with the Canberra Times in the '40s before moving to Sydney and becoming the racing editor for the Daily and Sunday Telegraph and Mirror. He later became a trainer and won the 1965 Sydney Cup with RIVER SEINE (CANBERRA TIMES, 7/25).

US OPEN PROGNOSIS: Tennis player NOVAK DJOKOVIC is "set to miss the US Open after one of his doctors indicated he will need six to 12 weeks to recover from an elbow injury." But ANDY MURRAY's chances of playing at Flushing Meadows "would appear more positive," with the Scot continuing his rehabilitation from a hip problem. The last grand slam of the year starts on Aug. 28, meaning Djokovic will "run out of time if the latest assessment is correct." The 12-time major champion was "forced to retire injured" during his Wimbledon quarterfinal and said after the match that he "had been feeling pain in his right elbow for more than a year and a half." Murray's Wimbledon hopes "were also hampered by injury as he limped to a five-set defeat" against American SAM QUERREY. The world No. 1, however, "looks to be feeling more positive about his troublesome hip" after posting an Instagram video on Monday of him hitting balls against a practice wall (London GUARDIAN, 7/25).
