League Notes: Contracts For England Women's XVs Squad Will Not Be Renewed

Contracts for the England women's XVs squad "will not be renewed after the forthcoming Rugby World Cup" despite the side being defending champion. The Rugby Football Union said that "its focus will switch to the sevens game after the tournament," which starts in Ireland next month. It is understood "several current squad members will move to a sevens contract." New XVs contracts will then be awarded in preparation for the 2021 Women's Rugby World Cup (BBC, 7/24).

Tamil Nadu Cricket Association representative N. Srinivasan has been "barred" by the Indian Supreme Court from attending cricket board meetings. Former BCCI President Srinivasan has been "violating Lodha committee recommendations on age and tenure guidelines." The reforms suggested by the panel said that "no official above the age of 70 should participate in BCCI matters" (HINDUSTAN TIMES, 7/24).

Asian Premier Marathons, a new marathon league jointly established by Infront China and the Beijing, Beirut and Seoul Marathons, under the leadership of the Asian Athletic Association, was launched in Beijing on Friday. Infront China will handle all marketing initiatives and communications (Infront Sports & Media).
