Franchise Notes: NRL Investigation Into Manly Expected To Reach Tipping Point

The National Rugby League's salary cap investigation into Manly is "expected to reach a tipping point" Tuesday with the "threat of sanctions looming against the Sea Eagles unless they provide the integrity unit with the information they have deemed necessary to complete their inquiry." The "most concerning issue" remains the integrity unit's inability to gain access to mobile phone and email records of "some of the club's key figures" (THE AUSTRALIAN, 7/25).

Bayern Munich is "not entirely happy" with its current 12-day tour of Asia. Bayern Munich President Uli Hoeneß said, "It's definitely borderline what we've done here so far. Whether playing four matches in 12 days, including a journey to another country, is the right idea will be up for discussion internally afterwards" (ESPN.com, 7/24).

Serie A side Genoa "confirmed talks have begun over a change in ownership and that there will be an update next week." Genoa President Enrico Preziosi had been accused by the club's ultras of "not doing enough to push through a sale, amidst a sudden scaling back in their transfer activity" (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 7/24).
