League Championship Side Bolton Wanderers Reportedly Issued Winding-Up Order

League Championship side Bolton Wanderers was reportedly "hit by another winding-up petition" from U.K. tax authority HMRC, according to Marc Iles of THE BOLTON NEWS. The HMRC Courts & Tribunals office lists a petition from the Inland Revenue against Bolton Wanderers Football & Athletic Company Ltd., dated July 12. The club confirmed it is "aware of the petition and will be dealing with it in due course." Meanwhile, Shaun McHugh left his position as the club’s head of finance "after less than four months." In the past 12 months, "three different men have held the financial director or head of finance post at Wanderers" (THE BOLTON NEWS, 7/19). SKY SPORTS reported Bolton, promoted to the League Championship last season, is "still under a transfer embargo" from the English Football League (SKY SPORTS, 7/20).
