Media Notes: Liga MX Side Chivas Guadalajara Ends Deal With Claro Video

Liga MX side Chivas Guadalajara announced Claro Video, "one of the digital platforms that was carrying Chivas TV, will no longer televise the club's home games next season." Chivas TV announced a partnership with NBC Sports' Playmaker Media on Tuesday (LA AFICIÓN, 7/11).

Former two-weight world champion boxer David Haye confirmed he will be "back in the ring by the end of the year." He also "signed four new fighters and a deal to bring boxing back to free-to-air TV." Haye revealed on Wednesday that his "Hayemaker Promotions" signed a three-year agreement with U.K. cable channel Dave to bring five fights a year to free-to-air TV (London DAILY MAIL, 7/12).

Eleven Sports will broadcast all five races from the Belcar Endurance Championship, including the 24 Hours of Zolder, exclusively live in Belgium and Luxembourg for the next five years. Eleven will also be the title sponsor for all races. Eleven Sports branding and activations will be featured at each event (Eleven Sports).

BBC iPlayer introduced Restart direct from the Freesat TV Guide. The feature is "being rolled out from Wednesday evening and is expected to be complete by Thursday morning" in time for the Wimbledon finals this weekend (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 7/12).

Telecom Orange announced the launch of a "new division that will combine content production and distribution." Orange Content will combine a "large proportion" of the current Content Division (Orange Studio, OCS and Orange Prestations TV). It will also cover the "content lifecycle" from rights acquisition through development of new services. The division will receive a €100M ($114M) investment (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 7/12).

Talpa Holding received approval to acquire Sanoma Image, owner of commercial TV channels SBS6, Net5, Veronica and SBS9. Talpa is "already active in the radio market" and held a 33% stake in Sanoma Image. The company agreed in April to pay €237M ($270.5M) for the rest of the broadcaster, "a price equal to 12.6x annual EBITDA" (TELECOMPAPER, 7/11).
