West Ham Sells All 52,000 Season Tickets, Could Call For Increased Capacity

Premier League club West Ham United announced that it "has sold the maximum 52,000 season tickets for next season, which could mean the club stepping up efforts" to persuade the authorities to increase the permitted capacity at the London Stadium, according to Gary Jacob of the LONDON TIMES. The club said that there are more than 45,000 people on the waiting list for tickets, but it is "restricted by licensing regulations" to a maximum of 57,000 at the ground "despite the stadium's full capacity being 66,000." The club "had hoped to have a 60,000 capacity last season but ran into problems with segregation and security issues" (LONDON TIMES, 7/7).
