Sources revealed the Ferrari Formula 1 team has "parted ways" with LORENZO SASSI, the chief engineer of its power unit. Although the Maranello, Italy-based outfit "refused to comment on the situation," a report in Italian newspaper Il Giornale said that Sassi's departure had been prompted following direct intervention from President SERGIO MARCHIONNE. It is unclear if he left the company completely, "or has been moved to another role" (MOTORSPORT, 7/6). ... League 1 rugby side London Skolars GM JAC DAVIES will "step down at the end of the season."
