Aser, a global investment company focused on the media and sport sectors and owned by ANDREA RADRIZZANI, appointed MARCO PISTONI as managing director of Aser Media. COACHES/MANAGERS: Qatar FA President SHEIKH HAMAD BIN KHALIFA BIN AHMED AL-THANI announced the temporary appointment of Qatar U23 team head coach FÉLIX SÁNCHEZ as Qatar national team coach. Uruguayan coach JORGE FOSSATI resigned as head coach after Qatar beat South Korea 3-2 in a World Cup qualifying match (GULF-TIMES, 7/2). ... Indian Super League side Chennaiyin appointed former Aston Villa Manager JOHN GREGORY as head coach, replacing Italian MARCO MATERAZZI. Gregory has over four decades of experience as a player and coach (PTI, 7/3). ... La Liga side Las Palmas announced MANOLO MÁRQUEZ agreed to become its coach for next season. Márquez, who has never coached a top-flight side, was "in charge of Las Palmas' reserve team last season," helping it earn promotion to Spain's third-tier competition (AP, 7/3). ... League One side Oxford United appointed former Leeds United and Swansea City assistant coach PEP CLOTET as manager. The Spaniard worked as No. 2 under GARRY MONK at both teams and replaces MICHAEL APPLETON, who left Oxford to become Leicester City assistant coach (BBC, 7/1).
