Court Confirms Dismissal Of Construction Firm MCM's Lawsuit Against Barcelona

A Barcelona court on Monday confirmed a ruling that dismissed a claim filed by construction firm MCM against Barcelona, according to Juan Jiménez of AS. MCM's claim "was that Barcelona breached a contract for a project involving the facade of La Masia." MCM, which filed the suit in '13, was seeking €100M in damages. MCM "has been ordered to pay the costs of the case," a sum of more than €900,000 ($1.02M) (AS, 7/3).

TV3 ALLEGES FRAUD
: MARCA reported Barcelona's "Free Seat" service was "intended to be a way for fans to watch the team like never before" with the help of Catalan broadcaster TV3. However, the broadcaster "called out discrepancies" between the amount Barcelona charged for certain games and how much it "dished out to partners." TV3 claimed that it did not receive its "fair share" for the 10 biggest matches of the last three seasons, in which Barcelona reportedly "ratcheted prices up" from €200 ($227) to €1,500 ($1,700) (MARCA, 7/3).
