U.S. President DONALD TRUMP's son ERIC said that his family had "made Turnberry great again" as he opened a second course at the golf resort. His father bought Turnberry in South Ayrshire, Scotland, in '14 but "has stepped away from the family business empire" since taking office. Trump did not take any questions from the media but told Turnberry members and invited guests that the completed resort was his father's "dream" (London TELEGRAPH, 6/28). ... Super Rugby side Highlanders player MALAKAI FEKITOA is one of 23 athletes from around the world who will “feature in the The Body Issue of ESPN The Magazine.” Fekitoa is “believed to be the first Kiwi athlete and only the second rugby player to be featured in The Body Issue” (NEW ZEALAND HERALD, 6/28). … The Int’l Cycling Union (UCI) announced Trek-Segafredo rider ANDRÉ CARDOSO was provisionally suspended for an adverse analytical finding of EPO. The provisional suspension means he is “out of the Tour de France” (CYCLING NEWS, 6/27). … Melbourne Cup-winning jockey MICHELLE PAYNE tested positive for a banned substance and was “stood down from racing pending the outcome of an inquiry.” Racing Victoria stewards will “conduct an inquiry into the results of a urine sample provided by Payne at the Swan Hill Cup meeting on June 11” (THE AGE, 6/28). ... Former Olympic Council of Ireland President PAT HICKEY said that he felt he was "treated in a disgraceful manner" after his "widely-publicised arrest" during the 2016 Rio Olympics. Hickey is "facing charges of facilitating ticket touting, formation of a cartel and ambush or illicit marketing." Hickey is "yet to face trial in Brazil," and said that he "felt humiliated by the worldwide reaction to his arrest" (DUBLIN LIVE, 6/28).
