Media Notes: ESPN Extends EPL Rights In Brazil Through '21-22 Season

ESPN announced it extended its rights for the Premier League in Brazil through the '21-22 season. The agreement includes rights for all media, including broadcast and pay-TV, streaming and VOD. The '17-18 season starts on Aug. 12. Last season, ESPN's exclusive broadcast of the EPL showed a 23% ratings growth in comparison to the '15-16 season (ESPN). 

Swiss pay-TV broadcaster Teleclub "will show all games of the Champions League and the Europa League live" from the '18-19 season. This agreement was made between parent company CT Cinetrade and agency Team Marketing, "which sells the TV rights" on behalf of UEFA. Financial details were not disclosed. The rights package covers the three seasons between '18-19 and '20-21 (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 6/28).

Polish DTH platform nc+ "secured the exclusive rights" to Europe's Volleyball Champions League for men and women for the '18-19 and '19-20 seasons. It will "show all games from the league on its sports channels Canal+, Canal+ Sport, Canal+ Sport 2 and nSport+, as well as on the mobile apps nc+ GO and Canal+ Sport Online" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 6/28).

ONE Championship announced it renewed its partnership with Filipino media and entertainment organization ABS-CBN. The multimedia conglomerate will have access to all ONE Championship content, including live events in the Philippines (ONE Championship).
