Media Notes: ATP Media, IMG Studios Launch Remote Production Venture

ATP Media, the broadcast arm of the ATP World Tour, signed a deal with IMG Studios to "launch a new remote production venture." The deal means "all singles matches from the ATP World Tour 500s are now being produced, resulting in more than 400 matches being made available to broadcasters." ATP Media has connected all the ATP World Tour 500 venues to its global media fiber network, "allowing a direct link to IMG Studios in London" (TVB EUROPE, 6/20).

FIFA embraced the new augmented reality technology opportunity on Facebook "to give fans a new way of showing their support for their teams." Facebook said that FIFA is the first sports organization in the world to implement its "augmented reality masks" during an int'l sporting event (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL 6/20).

The Int'l Cricket Council Women's World Cup 2017 will have unprecedented coverage as every match will be broadcast live around the world. The event will be available live in 139 countries on TV and close to 200 territories via digital platforms. The coverage, produced by ICC TV, will see Spidercam used for the first time at Lord's Cricket Ground for the final on July 23 (ICC).
