Event Notes: Seventh World Twenty20 Championships To Be Pushed To 2020

The World Twenty20 Championship's seventh edition next year is "all set to be scrapped" and pushed to '20 as the top member nations "will be busy with bilateral commitments" in '18. According to "highly-placed sources" in the Int'l Cricket Council, the next edition of ICC World T2O "will only be held" in '20. However, the venue is "yet to be decided." An "influential" ICC source said, "Yes, it is true that we are skipping with World T20 edition in 2018. Look, no venue was decided" (PTI, 6/18).

With "technology helping and gambling being legal" in the U.K., around Rs 2,000 crore ($300M) was expected to be wagered on Sunday's ICC Champions Trophy final between Indian and Pakistan, according to estimates by the All India Gaming Federation. India appeared to be a clear favorite of bookies on Friday "but not by a large margin" (TIMES OF INDIA, 6/18).

Dorna WSBK Organization and Santamonica SpA announced a contract extension which will see Misano World Circuit host the Superbike World Championship until '20 (WorldSBK).
