Crystal Palace Due £2M If Sam Allardyce Takes Another Management Job Before '19

EPL side Crystal Palace will be entitled to £2M ($2.59M) compensation from Sam Allardyce's next club "if he takes another management job inside two years," according to Matt Hughes of the LONDON TIMES. The former England manager is owed a £2M bonus for "keeping Palace in the Premier League during his six-month spell in charge" and will receive it "despite his abrupt resignation on Tuesday." Under the terms of his severance package, however, his former club will be due a payment of the same size if Allardyce "returns to the dugout before his Palace contract was due to expire" in the summer of '19. Allardyce is planning to take a break from football but is "unlikely to retire formally." The club has begun the process of securing a replacement, with Marco Silva, Sean Dyche, Chris Coleman and Slaviša Jokanović among the managers on its short list (LONDON TIMES, 5/25).
