CARLOS NUZMAN is planning to resign as president of the South American Sports Organization (ODESUR). He called for an election to select a new board of the regional body. It is "currently expected that these elections will take place in either July or August" (INSIDE THE GAMES, 5/21). ... Whistle Sports promoted Exec VP, Brand Partnerships & Advertising DEIRDRE LESTER to exec VP & global head of brand partnerships. She will oversee the company's sales and marketing divisions across the U.S. and EMEA markets (THE DAILY).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Ligue 2 side Stade de Reims released Manager MICHEL DER ZAKARIAN by mutual consent to allow him to join Ligue 1 side Montpellier. Der Zakarian's assistant, FRANCK RIZZETTO, also left to join Montpellier. Reims Academy Dir DAVID GUION was named the club's new manager (Stade de Reims). ... MARTIN SCHMIDT left his job as manager of Bundesliga side Mainz by mutual consent. The Swiss coach had been in charge of the first team since '15, but leaves after a season in which it "avoided the relegation playoff by goal difference" (PA, 5/22). ... Former League Championship side Cardiff City youth coach KEVIN NICHOLSON was named Welsh Premier League side Bangor City's new manager. The 31-year-old left his role as Bluebirds U23 coach in December following an "internal restructuring exercise" (BBC, 5/22). ... Welsh Premier League side Aberystwyth Town confirmed former Newport County and Yeovil goalkeeper TONY PENNOCK as its new manager. Pennock joined Aberystwyth's coaching staff in April having left Hull City in January. He will be assisted by WAYNE JONES (BBC, 5/22). ... Super League side Catalans Dragons parted company with head coach LAURENT FRAYSSINOUS. The only French side in Super League lost its "last five matches in a row." Coaches JÉRÔME GUISSET and MICHAEL MONAGHAN and GM ALEX CHAN will "take charge of the first team" (BBC, 5/22). ... LAURENTIU REGHECAMPF will replace JAVIER AGUIRRE as UAE Arabian Gulf League side Al Wahda manager "despite the Mexican leading the Abu Dhabi club to the President's Cup title on Friday." Aguirre was at the helm at Wahda for two years (THE NATIONAL, 5/20). ... DAVID MOYES resigned as Sunderland manager "in the wake of Sunday's 5-1 defeat to Chelsea on the final day of the Premier League season." Moyes, who was appointed at the Stadium of Light in July, was "unable to prevent the Black Cats' relegation." He initially appeared "set to stay in charge, despite the club's relegation, but has now called time on his spell on Wearside" (London EVENING STANDARD, 5/22).
