Media Notes: NBA, Brazilian Telecom Vivo Enter Multi-Year Partnership

The NBA and Brazilian telecom Vivo announced a multi-year partnership that will bring live NBA games each season and original NBA programming to Vivo's nearly 75 million subscribers across Brazil on mobile, TV and broadband. As the official telecom partner of the NBA in Brazil, Vivo will provide access to NBA League Pass, the league's live game subscription service, through a new, co-branded NBA-Vivo app (NBA).

Arsenal
is the first Premier League club to launch an Amazon Alexa Skill, developed by digital agency AKQA, that "allows fans to stream live matches." The Arsenal Skill for Alexa allows fans in the U.K. and U.S. to "access live commentary and real-time match stats, plus pre-match build-up, line-ups, score updates and post-match analysis" (THE DRUM, 4/23).

Wazee Digital is making World Surf League content "available for licensing through the Wazee Digital Commerce portal." Commerce is a portal designed to help rightsholders connect with customers who need video. Buyers such as filmmakers, broadcasters and advertising agencies "go to Commerce to search for and purchase clips to use in their projects." Commerce is powered by Wazee Digital Core (RAPID TV NEWS, 4/23).

The flagship website for women's tennis, www.wtatennis.com, will relaunch on Tuesday. The upgrade, which is the culmination of six months' planning and development, is designed to enhance the digital experience for everyone who follows the sport (WTA).

Lionel Messi took to Facebook after leading Barcelona to a 3-2 win over Real Madrid on Sunday. The player wrote, "We went to the Bernabéu looking for a win to keep ourselves in the battle for the LaLiga title. There's still a long way to go, but we came away with the joy of having taken an important step." The post had drawn more than 580,000 likes as of 6pm EST on Monday (LOS ANDES, 4/24).
