Finance Notes: Arena Group Heading Toward Stock Market Float

Arena Group, the events business behind temporary spectator stands at the London 2012 Olympics, is "racing towards a stock market float." Arena, whose structures are regular fixtures at sporting events such as the Ryder Cup and ATP World Tour tennis, "hired Cenkos Securities to advise on a potential listing, according to sources." The business has a "host of other clients" including the BFI London Film Festival and Lawn Tennis Association. Sources said that the company has "begun to hold presentations with City fund managers to gauge interest for a listing" (LONDON TIMES, 4/23).

ManU is "due to pay" Ligue 1 side Monaco £8.5M ($11M) under the terms of Anthony Martial's contract after he scored at Burnley on Sunday. Louis van Gaal signed Martial in '15 from Monaco for an initial £36M but the fee could surpass £50M in future add-ons. Martial's goal on Sunday was his 25th for ManU -- the "landmark required to trigger the extra payment" (ESPN.com, 4/23).
