Marketplace Roundup: Arsenal Renews With Credit Cart Partner MBNA

Arsenal announced that MBNA, the club's official credit card partner in the U.K., renewed and expanded its partnership with the club. MBNA will build on its existing base of Arsenal card holders, providing current and new customers access to match tickets and exclusive experiences. The renewal also extends MBNA’s rights to offer customers club merchandise and access to Arsenal’s matchday hospitality (Arsenal).

Barcelona named Chinese property development company Shimao Group a regional sponsor through '19. The deal furthers Barcelona’s expansion in China. The organizations will collaborate on cultural and sporting development, social responsibility and better lifestyles among Chinese people (Barcelona).

Bookmaker William Hill will support Tottenham Hotspur's "Elevator Programme," which helps young people in the London Borough of Haringey gain employment. The "Elevator Programme" has been developed by The Tottenham Hotspur’s Foundation, which the bookmaker will "contribute to and aid" as its official betting partner. The program aims to provide 18-to-24-year-olds from Haringey with education, training and opportunities to secure employment (SBC NEWS, 4/13).

Pro12 club Connacht Rugby and workwear company Portwest announced a three-year jersey sponsorship deal. It is Portwest's first foray into rugby. The Portwest logo will appear on the sleeve of the new jersey which will be unveiled in July (Connacht Rugby).

Polish Ekstraklasa side Wisla Krakow renewed its partnership with Coca-Cola for two years. The partnership began in '14 and will run until the end of the '18-19 season (SOCCEREX, 4/13).

Organizer Dorna Sports announced that MotoGP tire supplier Michelin will be the title sponsor of this season's Australian GP at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit. Michelin has been the sole tire supplier of MotoGP since its return last season (MotoGP).

The British Sailing Team announced that Musto is once again its official supplier of apparel, luggage, accessories and footwear. Musto also partnered with the British Youth Sailing Team, launching the Musto Junior Riders initiative (Royal Yachting Association).

The British & Irish Lions named Welsh sports nutrition company Pro Athlete Supplementation an official supplier. The Rhymney-based firm will supply all performance nutrition products and hydration for the 2017 Tour to New Zealand (WALES ONLINE, 4/13).

Air France and Amaury Sport Organisation signed a three-year partnership. Air France will be an official partner for a series of running events organized by ASO in France through ’19. Race participants will benefit from preferential prices for Air France-KLM flights to the events (Air France).
