Indonesian FA (PSSI) Secretary General ADE WELLINGTON resigned "after only five months in the position." PSSI Chair EDY RAHMAYADI said, "I don't know why he resigned. I have a guess he might be finding it hard to cope with the workload at the PSSI" (JAKARTA GLOBE, 4/11). ... The PSSI appointed Deputy Chair JOKO DRIYONO as a "temporary replacement" for Wellington (JAKARTA GLOBE, 4/11). ... Sports exec BRIAN BARWICK will chair Liverpool's bid to host the Commonwealth Games. The 62-year-old Liverpudlian -- who is chair of Rugby Football League, Super League Europe and the National League and a member of the FA Council -- will head the city’s drive to secure the event in '26, or '22 should the U.K. host the Commonwealth Games following Durban’s recent withdrawal (Liverpool Government). ... Before its "planned establishment" on July 1, Bundesliga Int'l is "adding a new member to its top management echelon." ROBERT KLEIN will "take on responsibility for sales and marketing" as CCO. Klein was most recently head of global rights for Red Bull Media House (SVG EUROPE, 4/11).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Cricket Australia confirmed a contract extension of Australian Women's head coach MATTHEW MOTT through June '20. Mott replaced former Australian int'l CATHRYN FITZPATRICK in the role in March '15 and helped Australia win the Women’s Ashes later that year (CA). ... Ligue 2 side Laval fired Manager MARCO SIMONE. The club is last in Ligue 2, five points from avoiding relegation. THIERRY GOUDET is expected to be presented as the club’s new manager on Wednesday (L’ÉQUIPE, 4/11). ... Argentina FA President CLAUDIO TAPIA officially announced the "dismissal of EDGARDO BAUZA as national team coach on Monday." The move had "widely been expected" following Argentina's defeat to Bolivia last month. The official announcement was "delayed while the federation worked out financial details with Bauza," whose contract had been set to run until '18 (ESPN.com, 4/11). ... Serie A side Palermo President PAUL BACCAGLINI announced Sporting Dir NICOLA SALERNO resigned and coach DIEGO LOPEZ has been sacked. Baccaglini released a statement confirming the club "received and accepted" Salerno's resignation and said that academy coach DIEGO BORTOLUZZI "would take over from Lopez until the end of the season" (PA, 4/11). ... Iraq national football team Manager RADHI SHENAISHIL "became the third coaching casualty of Asian World Cup qualifying Group B" when he was sacked on Monday. The 50-year-old was "shown the door" after defeat to Saudi Arabia at the end of last month "all but ruled the country out of contention for a place in Russia next year" (REUTERS, 4/10).
