Pelé and Bunim/Murray Productions are partnering with Pelé's manager, Paul Kemsley, to develop a limited scripted series based on the footballer's life. The series will focus on his life in N.Y. in the mid-'70s while playing for the Cosmos alongside other int'l players. Pelé, Kemsley, BMP CEO Gil Goldschein and BMP co-President of Entertainment & Development Jeff Jenkins will serve as exec producers (BMP).
Serie A side Inter Milan owner the Suning Group added to its "ever expanding portfolio by signing an agreement to become a new media partner for the Bundesliga." The company will broadcast German matches from the start of the '18 season. Suning signed a five-year deal, thought to be worth €235M ($250.7M), as "it looks to capture the best of European sport" to broadcast in China (CALCIO MERCATO, 4/3).
France 2’s broadcast of the Coupe de la Ligue final between Monaco and Paris St. Germain drew an average audience of 3.6 million viewers. The numbers translated to a 16% market share. The match, which PSG won 4-1, was also broadcast on Canal+, which has not published its audience numbers yet (L’ÉQUIPE, 4/2).
