Franchise Notes: Dundee United Chair Insists Club Will Not Go Into Administration

Scottish Championship side Dundee United Chair Stephen Thompson said that the club "will not slip into administration" should it fail to return to the Premiership this season. Thompson has "come under fire from United fans this term, but insisted the club’s financial safety was not in danger, despite the prospect of a second year in the Championship" (HERALD SCOTLAND, 3/30).

Bayern Munich announced the opening of the FC Bayern Football School Shenzhen. The partnership with the city-owned Shenzhen Investment Holdings Company and the China Sports Futurity agency covers an ongoing exchange of experiences, regular visits by Bayern youth coaches and the assistance and training of Chinese coaches and players in Munich. Further activities by the German club are planned in Shenzhen. Bayern will play Serie A side AC Milan on July 22 in Shenzhen (Bayern Munich). 

Egyptian club Al Masry trained at its home stadium for the first time since a riot led to "the death of more than 70 Al Ahly fans" in Feb. '12. However, Al Masry is "still not allowed to hold competitive matches" (BBC, 3/30).
