EPL Exec Chair Richard Scudamore Holding Meetings To Keep Clubs United

The Premier League is "countering the threat of a Big Six breakaway with a series of strategy meetings to keep all their clubs on side," according to Charles Sale of the London DAILY MAIL. There has been strong concern at the EPL about ManU, Man City, Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal "deciding policy between them." This "reached a head" when the six disrupted an EPL clubs' summit to have an "unscheduled huddle about a proposed Chinese TV rights deal -- leaving disgruntled representatives from the other 14 sides kicking their heels." EPL Exec Chair Richard Scudamore responded by "inviting groups of five randomly chosen clubs." The purpose of these meetings is to "underline the importance" of the 20-club collective to the league's future (DAILY MAIL, 3/27).
