London 2012 Olympic Race Officer JACK ROY succeeded Irish Sailing Association President DAVID LOVEGROVE at Saturday's ISA annual general meeting. Roy, an int'l race officer since '98, was the first Irish race officer at an Olympic Regatta in '12 and is chief race officer at Ireland's largest yacht racing organization, Dublin Bay Sailing Club (AFLOAT, 3/26). ... VLADIMIR DMITRIEV was elected the first Russian president of the European Tennis Federation. In the final round of voting, Dimitriev won the endorsement of the assembly over Finland's MATTI VIRTANEN with 41 votes to 32 (European Tennis Federation).

IN SPAIN: La Liga side Valencia named MATEU ALEMANY its director general. Alemany is a lawyer and was president of Spanish side Mallorca from '00-05. He will be in charge of "day-to-day operations at the club," along with Valencia Chair LAYHOON CHAN and Exec Dir ANIL MURTHY (AFP, 3/27). ... Barcelona named NACHO RODRÍGUEZ the director of its basketball team, which competes in the Spanish Basketball League (ACB). He played for the club for six seasons and will work closely with his former teammate, RODRIGO DE LA FUENTE, currently the sporting director of the first team (EFE, 3/27).

COACHES/MANAGERS: GUSTAVO MATOSAS was named the coach of Paraguayan first division side Cerro Porteño. The club announced the news on Twitter. Matosas' last coaching job was with Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal, which he left in September (LA AFICIÓN, 3/26).
