Formula E Unveils Layout Of Berlin Track Located At Former Tempelhof Airport

A "new track layout" to be used for the Berlin ePrix doubleheader at the former Tempelhof airport has been revealed by Formula E, according to Sam Smith of MOTORSPORT. The circuit has been "slightly shortened and simplified" compared to the layout used in May '15, before the race was transferred to downtown Berlin for the '16 event. The switch occurred due to the Tempelhof airfield "being used to house refugees, who have since been re-allocated sanctuary." The redesigned 2.25km track will see a "long back straight added and the majority of the 10 corners altered from the original configuration," which was 2.47km. The Berlin ePrix will take place from June 10-11 (MOTORSPORT, 3/27).
