FIBA Extends Chinese Central TV Partnership Through '25

FIBA on Wednesday announced it extended its long-term partnership with Chinese state TV broadcaster Chinese Central TV for a further nine years. The agreement, which runs from '17-25, involves the linear broadcast rights for all of FIBA's major national team competitions. Additionally, CCTV will partner with FIBA to provide the production facilities for all of China's national team's qualifiers as well as working with FIBA on the production and delivery of the FIBA Basketball World Cups. FIBA Secretary General Patrick Baumann said, "FIBA now has the means for every basketball fan in China to watch live World Cup and Asia Cup games on CCTV and for our popular sport to be showcased in the very best way." The agreement was brokered by FIBA Media, the strategic partnership between FIBA and Perform (FIBA).
