Olympique De Marseille Reportedly Inks Five-Year Kit Deal With Puma

Puma will be the next kit provider for Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille, according to RMC SPORT. The German brand, which already works with Arsenal and Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, reportedly “signed a five-year contract, starting with the ’18-19 season.” Puma’s deal is estimated to be worth between €14M-€15M ($15M-16M) per year. It would be a record deal for OM, which currently has a contract with adidas for €10M ($10.8M) per year. The club still is without a jersey sponsor for next season and is “in negotiations with several brands for the spot.” OM execs are "considering putting city of Marseille associations on the kit." The “idea of seeing an OM jersey without a sponsor next season, with highlights of the city, has not been ruled out, even if a number of brands are still in the running” (RMC SPORT, 3/22).
