Former world No. 2 badminton player KENTO MOMOTA "will have his suspension for illegal gambling lifted on May 15," the Nippon Badminton Association's board of directors decided (KYODO, 3/12). ... Footballer KAZUYOSHI MIURA scored his first goal of the season on Sunday to break his own record as the J.League's "oldest goal scorer" at the age of 50. Miura, who plays for second division side Yokohama, scored the only goal in the 40th minute of his team's 1-0 win over Thespa Kusatsu (AP, 3/13). ... Indonesian pro racing driver SEAN GELAEL will race with the Pertamina Arden team in Formula 2, which will kick off on March 14. Pertamina Arden is owned by GARRY HORNER, the father of Red Bull Racing Principal CHRISTIAN HORNER. Gelael will race with French driver NORMAN NATO on the team, which is headquartered in Banbury, U.K (JAKARTA GLOBE, 3/13).

REVVING AGAIN: MICHAEL MANN's "Ferrari" is "revving again," with HUGH JACKMAN "now in talks to play" ENZO FERRARI, and NOOMI RAPACE to play his estranged wife, LINDA. They have "loosely been discussing this teaming for months, and now things are starting to move" for a summer '18 production start. "Ferrari" is the drama Mann started in partnership with the late director SYDNEY POLLACK "almost 17 years ago." The film takes place in '57, "a year where passion, failure, success and death and life all collided in Ferrari's battle for supremacy against rival Maserati." CHRISTIAN BALE was going to play Ferrari two years ago, but "developed health concerns when he began putting on weight" (DEADLINE, 3/8).
