Formula 1 announced the appointment of MURRAY BARNETT as global head of sponsorship & commercial partnerships and MATTHEW ROBERTS as global head of research. Barnett formally takes up his position on April 25 and Roberts on June 1, reporting to Managing Dir, Commercial Operations SEAN BRATCHES (Formula 1). ... Bookmaker William Hill’s nine-month search for a new CEO ended with the decision to hand the role to interim CEO PHILIP BOWCOCK on a permanent basis. Bowcock has served as the London-listed gaming operator’s CFO since Nov. '15, stepping in as interim CEO in July '16 "following the departure of JAMES HENDERSON" (GAMING INTELLIGENCE, 3/10). ... Scottish Championship side Hibernian confirmed FRANK DOUGAN and TRACEY SMITH were "elected to the board of directors as supporter representatives." The successful candidates will "formally take up their roles at Hibs' next board meeting at the end of March, with their terms lasting two years" (Scotland DAILY RECORD, 3/12).

COACHES/MANAGERS: League Championship side Norwich City terminated ALEX NEIL's contract, "bringing an end to the 35-year-old manager's two-year reign at Carrow Road." First-team coach ALAN IRVINE will take charge. Norwich had "been in contention" for a Championship playoff place before a run of five league matches without a win (London GUARDIAN, 3/10). ... PEDRO CAIXINHA has been "confirmed as the new manager" of Scottish Premiership side Rangers after signing a three-year contract. The 46-year-old Portuguese attended Sunday's Old Firm match against Celtic "before starting work on Monday" (BBC, 3/11). ... EPL side Leicester City confirmed CRAIG SHAKESPEARE will "continue as manager until the end of the season." Shakespeare has been in charge of the club since it sacked CLAUDIO RANIERI last month (REUTERS, 3/12).
