Glamorgan County Cricket Club Announces '16 Operating Loss Of £308,000

Glamorgan County Cricket Club announced an operating loss of £307,778 for the '16 financial year, according to the BBC. The club reported an operating profit of £593,000 in '15. Glamorgan revealed the results in its annual report and also reported a turnover of £6.7M. The '15 financial year was notable for Glamorgan "arranging for major debts to be written off and hosting an Ashes Test match." Cardiff Council agreed for £4.4M of debt to be canceled, while Allied Irish Bank also agreed to a 70% write-off of its debt and former Chair Paul Russell accepted a 75% loss. During the '16 financial year, Glamorgan staged a home domestic Twenty20 quarterfinal for the first time in 12 years and staged two England int'l matches against Sri Lanka and Pakistan (BBC, 3/9).
