Event Notes: OM, Bayer Leverkusen, Cagliari To Feature In Hong Kong Soccer Sevens

Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille, Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen and Serie A outfit Cagliari have been "confirmed to feature in this year’s HKFC Citi Soccer Sevens." More teams from Europe and Asia are "set to be announced for the event, which takes place over May 26-28 at the Hong Kong Football Club." Tournament Dir Chris Plowman said, "We are keen to diversify the event" (SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST, 3/8).

Tottenham and League One side Millwall officials will "hold talks with police and fan groups" ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup quarterfinal at White Hart Lane. The meeting is "designed to establish security arrangements and inform supporters of certain details regarding transport, ground entry and policing" (London EVENING STANDARD, 3/8).

FIBA Americas confirmed Barquisimeto, Venezuela, as host for the Liga de las Americas on March 17-18. For the second consecutive year, the Domo de Barquisimeto will serve as venue of the Final4 (FIBA). 

The World Taekwondo Federation announced the five host cities for major events. Taipei City will host the 2018 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships and the 2018 World Taekwondo Grand Prix Series 2. Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, will host the 2017 World Taekwondo Cadet Championships. Moscow will host the 2017 World Taekwondo Grand Prix Series 1 and Marrakesh, Morocco, will host the 2017 World Taekwondo Grand Prix Series 2 (WTF).
