Chelsea's CESC FÀBREGAS was ordered by Spain's Supreme Court to pay £40,145 ($49,000) to financial services firm Eusara "in remuneration for payments from '05 and '06." Eusara served as an intermediary for Fàbregas during the player's time at Arsenal (EL PAÍS, 3/6). ... Former Germany int'l NADINE KESSLER joined UEFA as a women's football advisor. The 2014 FIFA Women's World Player of the Year's main roles will include helping to oversee the development of women's football and having an input in the growth of women's competitions (UEFA). ... Despite losing to TONY BELLEW in "their O2 Arena showdown" on Saturday night, injured DAVID HAYE is "set to pocket" £1.4M ($1.7M) more than his opponent. Haye was the "overwhelming" favorite to win the heavyweight bout, but his corner "threw in the towel" in the 11th round after he ruptured his Achilles tendon. Haye "will pocket at least" £4.2M ($5.1M) from the fight, while Bellew is set to earn £2.8M ($3.4M) (London DAILY MAIL, 3/6). ... Horse racing mogul J.P. MCMANUS has spoken for the first time about his "dream" of bringing the Ryder Cup golf tournament to Adare, Ireland. Former New Zealand rower DUDLEY STOREY died, aged 77. Storey, who won Gold in the four at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics and Silver in the coxless four at Munich in '72, was "recently diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease" (STUFF, 3/6).
