JOHN HORAN "easily won" a vote on Friday to become the Gaelic Athletic Association president-elect. The 58-year-old school principal from Dublin won 144 out of a possible 278 votes and was 98 ahead of his "nearest rivals," SEAN WALSH and FRANK BURKE. Horan will take over from current President AOGÁN Ó FEARGHAÍL in '18 (BBC, 2/24). ... ANDREA VARNIER is the new CEO for Filmmaster Events. The company has been in the events industry for more than 40 years. Varnier, 53, from Verona, Italy, has more than 30 years of experience in managing int'l events and has been working for several years as an IOC consultant (Filmmaster). ... INGRID DELTENRE resigned as EBU director general and will step down from her role in the summer. She will be leaving to focus her attention on her board responsibilities at Banque Cantonale Vaudoise, Givaudan and Deutsche Post/DHL (EBU). ... The IAAF appointed three independent execs to its inaugural Vetting Panel, including Independence Governance Committee Chair MARK PIETH. Joining Pieth on the panel is AKERE MUNA, an independent sanctions commissioner at the African Development Bank (CMR), and DON MACKINNON, managing partner at New Zealand-based employment law firm SBM Legal (INSIDE THE GAMES, 2/25). ... EPL side Fulham named NFL Jacksonville Jaguars Senior VP/Football Technology & Analytics TONY KHAN vice-chair & director of football operations. Khan said that his role with the Jaguars "won't change but he will be 'working remotely a bit more,' from London." Khan is the son of Jaguars and Fulham Owner SHAHID KHAN (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 2/24).
