Aussie Apples Signs Three-Year, A$600,000 Deal With Netball Australia

Australian apple farmers have "come together under the Aussie Apples branding to sponsor the new-look Netball League as women's professional sport continues to attract more viewers, larger crowds and increased commercial backing," according to Vivienne Kelly of MUMBRELLA. The three-year, A$600,000 ($461,000) sponsorship deal and corresponding campaign "will encourage Australians to 'Get your crunch on' and is the first of its kind for Australian apple growers." The sponsorship will include brand exposure at int'l and national netball games, as well as access to Netball Australia's primetime, free-to-air TV broadcast and player promotions. The partnership will also include the development of a "grassroots healthy eating program" titled "Fresh Step." As part of the deal, Aussie Apples will deliver apples to netball carnivals and professional games across the country throughout the '17 season -- "distributing the fruit to more than 324,000 young netball players" (MUMBRELLA, 2/26).
