Media Notes: BBC Sport To Livestream Badminton Wold Championships

August's Badminton World Championships will be streamed live on the BBC Sport website, with an hour-long TV highlights show to follow the final. The coverage will include live online video from two of the courts at Glasgow's Emirates Arena. The tournament runs from Aug. 21-27 (BBC).

Eurosport Events and La chaîne L'Équipe renewed their broadcast agreement for '17. The tie-up expands the Int'l Motorcycle Federation (FIM) Endurance World Championship's audience beyond the coverage provided by Eurosport. La chaîne L'Équipe, a 100% sport channel and part of France's digital terrestrial TV offer, expanded audiences for the FIM EWC in France and French overseas departments and territories. The live coverage of races gave viewership a boost, with more than 400,000 viewers watching the final hour and finish of the Bol d'Or last September (FIM).

German car and motor sports channel Motorvision TV "signed new carriage deals with platform operators in Europe and Africa." On Feb. 28, the pay-TV channel "will launch on Knippr." The OTT service operated by T-Mobile Netherlands "allows customers to stream channels and on-demand content to their TV screens, computers and mobile devices." With the newly agreed contracts, Motorvision TV "can now be watched on traditional pay-TV platforms by more than 10 million subscribers in 40 countries around the world" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 2/22).
