La Liga side Valencia and insurance firm Reale Seguros announced a two-season agreement on Monday, through which the company will become the official insurer of the club. The deal will be effective from July 1 (Valencia).
World No. 17 tennis player Lucas Pouille joined Stan Wawrinka and Maria Sharapova as an Evian ambassador. The Frenchman joins the “Evian Live young Team.” To initiate the partnership, Pouille challenged Wawrinka and Sharapova to a “bottle flip challenge” using an Evian bottle on Twitter (SPORTBUZZ BUSINESS, 2/21).
Garmin Int'l announced the
sponsorship of nine professional cycling teams in '17, "including five world tour teams and four mountain biking teams." Garmin will "continue to sponsor Cannondale-Drapac Pro Cycling and Movistar teams," while Astana Pro, FDJ Pro and Team Dimension Data are among the "latest to receive sponsorships." Garmin will "continue to support the Trek Factory Racing, CLIF Pro, CUBE and Scott-SRAM mountain biking teams" (

Luxury hotel Gleneagles was unveiled as an official supporter of the Glasgow 2018 European Championships -- a new multi-sport event that will see Gleneagles as host of the first European Golf Team Championships. The European Golf Team Championships is the only new event being staged as part of Glasgow 2018 and will take place at the Jack Nicklaus-designed Gleneagles PGA Centenary Course (European Championships).
Tourism Australia was announced as the official tourism partner for the round eight Australian Football League match between the Gold Coast Suns and Port Adelaide at Jiangwan Stadium on May 14. The Tourism Australia logo will be displayed on the back of both club jerseys on matchday, on the playing surface and throughout Jiangwan Stadium (AFL).
Infront Sports & Media is reorganizing its Dutch business operations. As of July '17, all projects of Infront Netherlands, which are mainly related to the Int'l Skating Union sports of speed skating and short track speed skating, will be managed and operated from the HQ in Switzerland and its subsidiary in Austria (Infront).
Northern Irish motorcycle racer Michael Dunlop agreed to terms for a third season with Hawk Racing -- but this time it is "to ride Suzuki's new GSX-R1000 at the Isle of Man TT, with support from the factory in Japan and Yoshimura." The deal "ends a winter of speculation" as to which machinery he would race in '17 (BELFAST TELEGRAPH, 2/22).
