Mercedes F1 signed new deals with Motorsport Dir Toto Wolff and non-exec Chair Niki Lauda to "retain the pair" until '20, "confirming the stability of the team up until the end of the manufacturer’s current commitment" to F1 -- when the commercial arrangement with Formula One Management concludes, according to Giles Richards of the London GUARDIAN. The team will launch its new car for the season on Thursday at Silverstone and retaining Wolff and Lauda "will help ease the transition." Lauda and Wolff have overseen a "remarkable period of dominance," with the team winning all three drivers’ and constructors’ championships since '14, with Lewis Hamilton taking two of the former (GUARDIAN, 2/20). The BBC's Andrew Benson reported the deals "conclude a busy winter of off-track activity for Mercedes." The team signed Valtteri Bottas as Hamilton's teammate in January. Mercedes' parent company Daimler Chair & CEO Dieter Zetsche said, "In 2013, we restructured the management of the team with the clear goal of improving our performance. Since then, however, the results have exceeded our expectations" (BBC, 2/20).
