Media Notes: Lagardère Sports, Canal Del Fútbol Reach Agreement

Lagardère Sports reached a multi-year agreement with Canal del Fútbol, a sports TV network in Chile, to market the broadcast rights of elite professional football in the country -- including the Chilean Primera División -- to int'l territories. As part of the agreement, Lagardère Sports will lead the int'l sales and distribution of the Chilean Primera División, the Copa Chile and Supercopa de Chile. In addition to the broadcast rights, Lagardère Sports will market the betting and gaming rights internationally (Lagardère Sports).

Eleven Sports announced a four-year deal with DFL Sports Enterprises for media rights in Poland to Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2. Except for one match per round, all matches will be shown exclusively live on Eleven Sports. The partnership will begin at the start of the '17-18 season (Eleven Sports).

ManU announced that MUTV is now available in 165 countries worldwide through the new MUTV subscription-based app. The MUTV app allows ManU's 659 million followers to live stream MUTV for a monthly subscription fee which varies by country (ManU).

Canadian broadcaster Super Channel and Ginx eSportsTV signed an exclusive deal to "create and distribute a new 24-hour channel for video game fans in Canada." The new esports channel will feature live esports "events, news and gaming lifestyle programming." The channel will be part of Super Channel's "four multiplexed channels" and will launch across Canada in the "spring/summer" of '17 (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 2/15).

German car and motor sports channel Motorvision TV will become available on Deutsche Telekom's IPTV platform Entertain TV again from Friday. The distribution will be "independent of Sky Deutschland in the Entertain packages Big TV and Sport." Sky removed Motorvision TV from its IPTV offer in early January (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 2/16).

BT Sport announced plans to show exclusive live coverage of ManU vs. Ligue 1 side St. Etienne and Man City vs. Ligue 1 side AS Monaco "in Dolby Atmos sound." It is the first time the format has been used in either Champions League or Europa League matches. ManU faced St. Etienne at Old Trafford on Thursday. The Man City game "will be shown next Tuesday" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 2/16).
