German Cup Game Draws Close To 7 Million Viewers On Public Broadcaster ARD

German public broadcaster ARD drew almost 7 million viewers for its broadcast of the DFB-Pokal (German Cup) game between Bayern Munich and VfL Wolfsburg, according to Daniel Sallhoff of QUOTENMETER. The game, which Bayern won 1-0, attracted 6.78 million viewers on Tuesday. The number translated into a market share of 21.8%. In the target demographic 14-49, the round of 16 matchup obtained a 17.4% market share as 1.87 million viewers tuned in. The pregame coverage recorded a 14.7% market share in the target demo and a 17.2% share age three and older. A total of 5.02 million viewers watched the pregame broadcast. The postgame coverage, which included highlights of other Cup games, attracted 4.25 million viewers starting at 10:54pm. The corresponding market shares were 22.4% and 18.9% in the target demo (QUOTENMETER, 2/8).
