Media Notes: Dorna Sports Names Tata Communications Video Distribution Partner

Tata Communications was selected by Dorna Sports as the exclusive video distribution partner for the FIM Superbike World Championship and the FIM MotoGP World Championship. Tata Communications will distribute the motorcycle road racing action from five continents to over 80 media partners, reaching over 200 million households. As part of the new partnership, Tata Communications and Dorna will collaborate on several projects involving technologies such as low-latency ultra-high definition, 360-degree and live OTT video feeds (WorldSBK). 

Sam Borden joined ESPN as a writer and TV contributor. Borden, who joins from The New York Times, will focus on enterprise and investigative work around int'l sports, largely contributing to coverage surrounding major football leagues and competitions including the World Cup, Euro, the Premier League, Champions League and more. He will also contribute to ESPN's coverage of the Olympics and major cricket, rugby, golf and tennis competitions (ESPN). 

The Canadian Olympic Committee named global travel management and events company ATPI Sports Events as its official ticketing and hospitality services partner. The eight-year agreement accredits ATPI as the exclusive ticket reseller and hospitality package provider for Canadians over the next four Olympic Games. In addition, ATPI Sports Events will arrange travel for Team Canada and Mission Team members through the 2024 Games (COC). 

Action sports entertainment company Nitro Circus tapped two licensing agencies to launch a range of consumer products in several European markets: License Connection in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg and The Licensing Locomotive in Spain, Portugal and Central Eastern Europe (Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania, Serbia, Kosovo, Bosnia, Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, Macedonia, Latvia and Lithuania) (Nitro Circus). 

The Basketball Champions League has been a success in its inaugural campaign. Various digital platforms made sure the fans do not miss a beat. Halfway through the season there are already more than 449,000 followers of the Basketball Champions League on social media, which represents growth of 2,179% from the beginning of the season in October (Basketball CL).
