In a "major change" to the Australian Football League's administration, AFL GM of Football Operations MARK EVANS is set to leave and rejoin the Hawthorn Hawks as the club's CEO. Evans has been the league’s GM of football operations since '13 "after nine years heading the Hawks’ football department." He is "almost certain to replace" current Hawks CEO STUART FOX, who will "take over in the same role at the Melbourne Cricket Club after being appointed prior to Christmas" to replace retiring CEO STEPHEN GOUGH. Fox, who joined the Hawks from Geelong in '09, "will leave at the end of February" (THE AUSTRALIAN, 1/30). ... A documentary film on former Scottish Premiership side Rangers player FERNANDO RICKSEN’s "fight with motor neurone disease will be screened thanks to supporters helping raise cash for the project." The former Ibrox player "revealed on Dutch TV four years ago that he was suffering from the condition." RONALD TOP, a Dutch actor and writer, is producing the documentary -- "The Final Battle" -- on Ricksen’s life "since being diagnosed with MND."
