Big Bash League Matches Exceed Total Attendance Of 1 Million

A sold out crowd of 35,116 at Brisbane Cricket Ground on Wednesday took the number of fans attending Big Bash League matches this season beyond the 1 million mark -- the second consecutive year the competition has reached this milestone. With the Women's BBL and BBL finals still to be played on Saturday, 1,032,165 people have attended stadiums around the country, surpassing last year's total attendance of 1,030,495. A total of 19 matches during this year's BBL have drawn sold-out crowds. This year's average attendance of 30,358 is up 3% from last year's average of 29,443. BBL matches this season have also drawn an average of more than 1 million fans on TV (BBL).
