League Notes: New Head Of Ethiopian Basketball Looking To Relaunch National Teams

A month after his election as president of the Ethiopian Basketball Federation, Ashebir Woldegiorgis Gayo is working to relaunch the game in the country. One of his main priorities, he said, will be relaunching the national teams. It has been over 50 years since Ethiopia's men's national team last participated in a FIBA AfroBasket tournament (FIBA).

Concussion was "the most commonly reported injury" during Premiership rugby matches last season, accounting for approximately 25% of the total, according to an annual study. The Rugby Football Union's Professional Rugby Injury Report, first commissioned in '02, found "the overall likelihood of a player getting injured was lower than in any previous season." But concussion incidents increased 7%. The RFU said that "increased awareness and improved management had contributed" (BBC, 1/18).
