Tottenham Must Inform FA Whether It Intends To Play At Wembley In '17-18 By End Of March

Tottenham must inform the FA "by the end of March" whether it intends to play Premier League football at Wembley Stadium next season, according to Tom Collomosse of the London EVENING STANDARD. The north London club is "pressing ahead" with plans to stage "home" league matches at the national stadium in '17-18, before moving into its new 61,000-seat ground for the '18-19 campaign. Tottenham has "a little more than two months remaining" before it needs to activate its option to play at the 90,000-capacity ground. Tottenham is said to be "relaxed" about the deadline and remains focused on Wembley for next season. Though the Premier League set no formal date for clubs to confirm a venue for home fixtures, it expects them to do so "several months before the start of a new season." Tottenham said its stadium project, costing about £750M ($920.3M), "is on track." Yet faced with such a "complex" initiative, the club believes "it would be rash to commit completely to anything" until it can be 100% certain of its timetable (EVENING STANDARD, 1/17).
