Ticket Sales For Anthony Joshua-Wladimir Klitschko Bout Surpass 80,000

The "heavyweight showdown" between British boxer Anthony Joshua and Ukraine's Wladimir Klitschko is set to become "the biggest fight in British history" with ticket sales hitting the 80,000 mark, according to the NEW ZEALAND HERALD. Last month, the first 50,000 tickets for the Wembley Stadium bout were sold within hours and "the latest release of another 30,000 tickets have also been snapped up quickly." Joshua is the IBF heavyweight world champion while Klitschko is the former WBA, WBO and IBO champion. Ticket sales alone could make £8M ($9.9M) with the broadcast rights worth another reported £42M ($52.1M) (NZ HERALD, 1/17).
