Barcelona's board on Monday announced that Communications Dir ALBERT ROURA will no longer "lead that department." The club hired Roura as communications director in Sept. '15. He is the "fifth person in this position to lose the job since the current board was elected" in '10 (MUNDO DEPORTIVO, 1/16). ... HANS-DIETER FLICK stepped down as German FA (DFB) sporting director. The 51-year-old former Bayern Munich midfielder assisted national team head coach JOACHIM LÖW from '06 until the country's World Cup success in '14. After the tournament in Brazil, Flick "took on the sporting director role," but on Monday the DFB confirmed it "reluctantly accepted his decision to step down two years early." HORST HRUBESCH has been named as Flick's temporary replacement (PA, 1/16). ... MEHRAN HATAMI was named the successor to DIRK BAUERMANN as head coach of the Iran national men's basketball team. Hatami played for Team Melli in the Asian Games and FIBA Asia Championships during the '90s. He takes over after Bauermann agreed to helm S.Oliver Würzburg in his home country of Germany. Bauermann's contract had not run its course yet as he was expected to stay on until '19 (FIBA).
