Lagardère Sports announced the appointment of LAURENT PLATINI and THOMAS LAVENANT for the positions of business development director and events division director of Lagardère Sports in France, respectively. Both report to Lagardère Sports France Managing Dir LAURENT MORETTI (Lagardère Sports).

COACHES/MANAGERS: League Championship side Nottingham Forest sacked Manager PHILIPPE MONTANIER after "less than seven months in charge." The 52-year-old leaves after the proposed sale of the club from FAWAZ AL HASAWI to a U.S.-based consortium "collapsed on Friday" (BBC, 1/14). ... League Two side Hartlepool United Manager CRAIG HIGNETT has left the club "by mutual consent after a run of one win in nine games." Hignett, 47, who was in his first managerial post at Victoria Park, "leaves the club 19th in League Two." Hignett replaced RONNIE MOORE in February last year and "steered Hartlepool away from relegation, finishing 16th." The club is "now only four points above the bottom two after Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Crawley." Hartlepool U21 Manager SAM COLLINS has been "placed in temporary charge" (PA, 1/15).
