Racing 92 Announces Intent To Take Legal Action Against No-Show Johan Goosen

Top14 side Racing 92 announced its intent to “take legal action” against player Johan Goosen, who did not show up for the resumption of training, according to LE MONDE. A statement from the club said that due to Goosen’s behavior, the club, which considers itself a “victim of fraud,” will “launch several procedures to enforce its rights.” Goosen, voted Top14’s best player last season, “extended his contract last April through ’20,” and has been in “open conflict” with his club for several months. He announced his retirement from sports at the end of ’16, while “promising to hire a South African firm,” with the “supposed aim of rendering his fixed-term contract obsolete” (LE MONDE, 1/3).
