Marketplace Roundup: Betting Firm SportPesa Looking To Sponsor EPL Side Everton

Betting firm SportPesa is eyeing a sponsorship deal with "yet another" Premier League club, Everton. SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri said, "Our U.K. office have been in talks with several EPL teams, not only Everton. SportPesa UK has been very successful and the marketing team there are constantly looking for every opportunity to make the brand an even bigger success in that crowded market" (NAIROBI NEWS, 12/26).

The partnership between Cricket Ireland and The KPC Group will conclude at the end of March. The three-year deal which was signed in April has an opt-out clause which will be enacted by KPC following a change in its strategic objectives. Cricket Ireland will look to have a new team sponsor in place ahead of the ODI Series against England in May (Cricket Ireland).

Mercedes-Benz U.K.
and its dealer partners are supporting Laureus Sport for Good. For each vehicle purchased and each car financed, Mercedes retailers and Mercedes-Benz Financial Services throughout the U.K. will donate £1 ($1.22) to the organization that combats crime, violence and disadvantage through athletic activity. Throughout '16, the automaker has donated more than £350,000 ($428,000) to the cause. Mercedes-Benz will be the main sponsor of Laureus in the U.K. in '17 (Mercedes-Benz U.K.).
