Sports tech company CricHQ appointed KEVIN ROBERTS to its board as chair. Roberts held prior roles at Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide, Lion Nathan, Pepsi-Co. and Procter & Gamble. He was also chair of USA Rugby and trustee of the New Zealand America's Cup Challenge (CricHQ). ... GIOVANNI PETRUCCI will continue in his role as president of the Italian Basketball Federation (FIP) for another term. At the FIP's 46th ordinary general assembly in Rome, Petrucci received 92% of the votes. His next term will run through the end of '20 (FIBA). ... Pro12 rugby side Scarlets CEO DARRAN PHILLIPS will "leave the region at the end of December." The Scarlets will not appoint a new CEO, having "restructured" its management team. JON DANIELS will continue to oversee rugby matters, while PHIL MORGAN is in charge of commercial and business matters as COO (BBC, 12/21). ... League Two side Morecambe Dir NIGEL ADAMS has resigned from his role at the League Two club, "citing a lack of communication" from Owner DIEGO LEMOS. Adams: "I do not feel I have been given sufficient financial information from the majority shareholder to allow me to perform my duties." Manager JIM BENTLEY has also expressed concern about Morecambe's future and said that January will be the "biggest month in the club's history" (BBC, 12/21).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Three weeks after "being sacked as sporting direcor" of La Liga side Espanyol, ÁNGEL GÓMEZ signed a contract to coach Ecuadorian first division side River Ecuador. He has previous experience with Ecuadorian clubs Barcelona and Independiente del Valle (EL PERIÓDICO, 12/20). ... Argentine first division side Godoy Cruz hired LUCAS BERNARDI to replace SEBASTIÁN MÉNDEZ as its coach (LOS ANDES, 12/21). ... Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach sacked coach ANDRÉ SCHUBERT "hours after being beaten at home" by Wolfsburg. Schubert had been in charge since Nov. '15, but "speculation had been mounting, with the club enduring a difficult season" (London GUARDIAN, 12/21). ... RUSSELL SLADE has been named the new manager of League One side Coventry City. Slade, "who lost his job at Charlton last month, is set to take charge" of the club on Boxing Day, when it plays Bristol Rovers (PA, 12/21).
