More Than 300,000 Tickets Sold For '17 Handball World Championships, FFHB Says

With the opening ceremonies of the 2017 Handball World Championships -- hosted by France -- approaching, the French Handball Federation (FFHB) “announced interesting figures during a media and sponsors meeting,” according to Victor Pellissier of SPORTBUZZ BUSINESS. The FFHB announced that 300,000 tickets have “already been sold with one month to go until the competition.” The federation expects to sell 500,000 tickets in total. The tickets “were purchased by 32 different nationalities,” with the most buyers being from Norway, Germany, Tunisia and Spain. Many matches “are already sold out,” including the team France group matches as well as the final. Over 1,000 media personnel have been accredited from 50 different countries, “even though only 24 countries are represented” (SPORTBUZZ BUSINESS, 12/16).
